What will happen at my first appointment?

Please allow approximately thirty to forty five minutes for your first visit to our practice. When you arrive please hand in your completed health questionnaire signed by your parent or guardian. You will then meet with one of our assistants who will take down some personal details. One of the questions will be whether you have had any X-rays taken at your own dentist. It is likely that we will take a panoral X-ray (OPG the large X-ray where the machine goes round your head) but if you have already had a panoral X-ray taken at your own dentist during the last year please arrange to bring it with you for this visit to avoid repetition. The orthodontist will then take a quick look to decide which X-rays and photographs need to be taken. Please ensure that you have removed any earrings (or other facial jewellery) before your appointment. By the time the X-rays have developed, the orthodontist will ask your parents or guardian to come through for a chat.
