Functional Appliance

These are worn to alter the position of the jaws and the upper and lower teeth meet.  The power of the jaw muscles is applied to move the teeth in tandem.  Functional appliances are worn on the lower and upper teeth together.  They have to be worn all the time, apart from sports and swimming.  The appliance we use is the twin blocks.
